Children Deserve loving Homes

In 2014, our dream of creating loving, long-term homes for those of our children unable to be reunited with family finally became a reality, with the help of Shazi Visram and Happy Family Organics, who are all about healthy, happy childhoods. The children's village is built in loving memory of Shazi's father Amir Visram, a Tanzanian native who brought his family to America for a chance at a better life.

While our first goal is always family preservation and reunification, that is frequently impossible. Happy Family Children's Village (HFCV for short!) contains family-style houses, each holding between twelve and fifteen children along with a young adult "teacher" and two “mamas,” who will care for the same children throughout their time with us. They attend day school, eat meals with their house family, and grow up fully embedded in their own community, rather than isolated in a institution. By the end of 2016 we will have space for 45 children, and in the long term will expand our capacity to provide loving homes for up to 90-100 children, depending on demand.  Through our village integration program and high quality education, we are ensuring these children are positioned to be future leaders of their communities and country.

Could you be the one who sparks their future?

I believe that all children deserve to be happy, and oftentimes that starts with the little things, like access to nutritious food and a proper education. I founded my company upon these principals and I remain committed and passionate about issues surrounding raising happy, healthy children. My family, together with my company, Happy Family intends to support and nurture these young lives, and ultimately help them unleash their fullest potentials.
